Help fixing your small household items!
Do you have a household item that isn’t working at its best or seems to be completely broken and you don’t know how to fix it? Don’t put it out in the trash, come to Earth Fest’s Fix-It Clinic and have a local volunteer help you (hopefully) fix it. Bring in your item and any parts or pieces that you have that you think might be helpful in its repair and sign up to meet with a coach. No cost and no pre-reservations needed. All items must be carry-in size and it’s good to come in and sign in early to get your space.

Why is a Fix-It Clinic part of Earth Fest?
We throw away vast amounts of stuff in Blaine County and in the world. Even things with little or nothing wrong, which could get a new lease on life after repair or repurposing, get thrown out as if they were trash. The trouble is, lots of people have forgotten that they can repair things themselves or they don’t know how. Knowing how to make repairs is a skill quickly lost … and quickly learned again.
Enter the Fix-It Clinics! Clinics can help share our community’s own valuable practical knowledge and pass it on. Each time another item finds continued life we can reduce the volume of raw materials and energy needed to make new products. It can cut the CO2 emissions of extraction, manufacturing and transportation - all major causes of climate change - by repairing, repurposing and recycling old ones back into use.
A Fix-It Clinics’ culture is one of community and mutual help with no charging of money or any form of exchange. Everyone has a unique skill set, so clinics turn into skill-sharing and cross-training events where sometimes the role of Fix- It coach and participant blurs, and everyone’s just helping everybody else out and finding out how easy, fun, and useful repairing an item can be.
